Community Giving

Colliers Victoria Community Giving

Colliers International Vancouver Island is deeply committed to the communities within which we operate.

We strive to support local organizations to improve Vancouver Island residents' quality of life and help shape the lives of future generations. Giving back is an essential part of who we are. We donate our time, talents and resources to causes that are meaningful to our employees and their families, our clients and local communities.

Our Investment Framework is built on four main principles:

  • Champion projects for organizations that have a personal connection to our employees
  • Identify local causes and lend financial support to charities that will invest on Vancouver Island
  • Promote well-being by assisting organizations with the greatest need
  • Ensure funding achieves maximum impact and benefit for recipient(s)

Colliers Cares Foundation - Victoria

This is the cornerstone of our community investment strategy and initiative. Our mission is to raise our level of corporate social responsibility by identifying community needs and opportunities, fundraising and partnering with locally-focused organizations that support Vancouver Island communities.

In addition to the Annual Charity Golf Tournament, the Colliers Cares Foundation - Victoria chooses additional organizations to support each year. Support through participation occurs through various office events as well as volunteer opportunities, and financial support is provided both on a corporate level as well as through fundraising initiatives within the local offices.

In 2016 we were able to support:

  • BC Cancer Foundation
  • BC Children’s Hospital – Jeans Day
  • Canadian Blood Services
  • Corix – Golf For Kids Charity Classic
  • KidSport
  • Mustard Seed - Tonne of Love campaign
  • Our Place Society
  • Pink Shirt Day – Anti Bullying campaign
  • Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation
  • Shoreline Community Middle School
  • Victoria Hospice

Company-Supported Volunteer Program

Colliers Vancouver Island has a locally-based, company-supported program that enables our professionals to make a tangible impact in their community by volunteering at charitable organizations of their choice.

Colliers Victoria through the Colliers Cares Foundation - Victoria chose to support local School District No. 62 Sooke and provide back to school supplies for some very well deserving students. They partnered with Sooke Elementary School to provide backpack supplies for 12 students in Kindergarten through Grade 3. Associate Anna Wray, led the initiative in the office to fill 12 backpacks for the students, and raised enough money to allow Colliers Victoria to buy additional school supplies including six (6) Plus-Plus building sets for the Grade 4 and 5 classes. These are supplies which the school and the district didn't have the budget for, and items that truly benefit the teachers; especially the growth of the students.
