North America Market Snapshot _1536x1040

The second quarter of 2022 saw volumes decline in four major asset classes, with only hotel recording growth from the prior quarter.

  • Interest rates have become the prevailing concern in the market, as the  “emergency rates” of the past several years ended abruptly.
  • Inflation in Canada has reached 40-year highs, a situation that will likely demand further tightening by the central bank.
  • Solid fundamentals for industrial and multifamily seem likely to balance the effect of rising borrowing costs and help maintain stable prices moving forward.
