The Halifax industrial market experienced a minimal increase in vacancy of 30 bps (Basis points) since the previous quarter, starting the year off at 9.7%.

  • This slight uptick was anticipated, with creative flooring solutions officially exiting their former space at 30 Akerley leaving behind approximately 30,000 square feet.
  • Various tenants expected to vacate space within the Bedford/Sackville submarket also had a considerable impact on this outcome, proving a slow start to 2020 prior to the global impact of Covid-19.

  • It is uncertain whether these overall trends of increased vacancy will persist throughout the next few quarters due to Covid.
