Haddington Island has a rich history and is perhaps best known for Haddington Island Stone which was quarried on the island between 1896 and 2016. Some of British Columbia’s most prominent public and private buildings and residences are built with Haddington Island Stone. While the quarry remains, Haddington Island also has incredible recreational attributes. A large level area located just above a sandy and pebbly beach provides the ideal location for new home.
Named for Thomas Haddington, the 9th Earl of Haddington, a Scottish Lord and first Lord of the British Admiralty in the mid-1800’s, Haddington Island has a history.
