Colliers Advising YMCA on Seeking Expressions of Interest for Cherished Geneva Park Property

Colliers Advising YMCA on Seeking Expressions of Interest for Cherished Geneva Park Property

YMCA Simcoe/Muskoka (the Owner) has engaged Colliers as its advisor on seeking Expressions of Interest for YMCA Geneva Park, a cherished and storied 140-acre waterfront destination for children, youth and adults alike, on the shores of Lake Couchiching, just north of Lake Simcoe.

Located at 6604 Rama Road, Ramara, Ontario, Geneva Park has been an important part of the Simcoe County community for over a century and has welcomed over 18,000 visitors per year. With its nearly 8,000 feet of primarily southern and western lake frontage; 85 buildings (including 41 cottages, a conference facility, two main blocks of hotel rooms, a boathouse and more); recreational facilities (including tennis courts, playing fields, pathways, beaches and docks); as well as pristine walking trails through a preserved forest area, Geneva Park provides a serene retreat and a range of services for agencies, associations and families, 364 days of the year.

A 90-minute drive from Toronto and a short drive from Highway 11, Geneva Park is in close proximity to Canada’s economic heartland and is within Southern Ontario’s recreational hub, providing a readily accessible environment wherein commerce and leisure can effectively converge. The property is situated near universities, colleges and a regional hospital, and within a community boasting a labour market centred around retail, health care and manufacturing: Its strategic location lends it the prime advantage of enabling convenient access to essential resources and amenities, and catering to the business and recreational needs of key sectors.

YMCA Simcoe/Muskoka is seeking a solution that would preserve the organization’s legacy at Geneva Park and honour and maintain the property’s heritage, allowing it to endure for generations to come. Consideration will be given to interested parties whose proposal allows for the Owner’s continued use of either a portion of or the entirety of the site. Various forms or partnership, joint venture, partial sale, co-ownership, equity investment and property sharing will be considered.

Colliers is now accepting Expressions of Interest for the property with a deadline of 3pm Eastern Daylight Time on September 15th, 2021.
