New strata office and light industrial project by community-minded developer to provide flexible unit sizes for growing businesses, attractive amenities for thriving neighbourhood.
Senior executives from Chard Development, Colliers International, Proscenium Architecture and Ventana Construction gathered to officially launch construction of The Yukon, one of the most anticipated new strata office and light industrial developments in the thriving community of Mount Pleasant. The Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, identified by the City of Vancouver as a major cluster in Vancouver’s growing innovation economy, has experienced significant growth in recent years. The Yukon is Chard Development’s fifth project within this thriving community and its second strata office and light industrial development.
“Mount Pleasant is one of the most desired neighbourhoods for creative industries thanks to its easy access to transit, proximity to downtown and its community-minded residents,” said Byron Chard, Principal and Chief Financial Officer of Chard Development. “Our first strata office development in this community – 34|W7 – showed us that there was an overwhelming demand for strata office and light industrial spaces of varying sizes. The Yukon offers solutions from approximately 1,000 square feet to over 10,000 square feet and will significantly contribute to employment growth in the area.”
Totalling 49,000 SF, The Yukon offers smaller yet expansive floor plates and has already garnered the interest of technology firms, creative industries and retail service providers. With five units sold and two additional currently under offer, The Yukon is well on-track for a successful completion in 2020. Flexible floorplans with generous private terraces and expansive glazing will showcase stunning views of downtown and the North Shore mountains. Located on the corner of Yukon Street and West 6th Avenue, just steps away from the Olympic Village SkyTrain station, the building will feature extensive end-of-trip amenities for transit commuters and those using alternative transportation.
