OUR ROLE
The Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon’s (Freemasons) Vancouver Masonic Centre is located in an area that sees strong demand for rental and affordable ownership housing. As a result, the Freemasons are redeveloping the site to offer affordable housing options and have engaged Colliers as development managers for the project. Colliers has undertaken management of the pre-application development planning process by developing design specifications and coordinating sub-consultant applications, BC Housing financing, rezoning and development permits. Our team is currently responsible for managing the construction phase of the development.
SERVICES
To date, Colliers has provided the following services:
- Identified requirements, challenges, and opportunities via highest & best use studies
- Conducted detailed project feasibility analysis to inform development decisions
- Developed financial models to determine project viability
- Established financing from BC Housing and utilized the City of Vancouver’s Rental 100 and Social Housing programs
- Prepared community engagement strategies
- Assembled and coordinated the sub-consultants / design team
- Administered development applications, reports and permitting to successfully obtain planning and construction approvals
- Tendered project / negotiated with a selected list of contractors
- Managed all construction-related activities
- Strictly managed project budgets and schedule and provided accounting services
