Unveiling Ceremony Reveals New Custom Artwork for Iconic Airport Square

On September 1, 2020, Airport Square in Vancouver unveiled two custom artwork pieces in its newly renovated lobby. The commissioned artwork at Airport Square marks the culmination of a massive interior renovation project that renewed the lobby, as well as marking the commencement of a multi-year upgrade to the common lobbies and tenant amenities throughout the building.

The Colliers Real Estate Management Services’ (REMS) team, including Daniel Mok, Senior Property Manager, Clarence LaFortune, Senior Building Operator, and Meghan Cree-Smith, Marketing and Proposal Specialist, collaborated with the client, Edmund Lee, Senior Vice President at LaSalle Investment Management, to source and hire a local artist whose style would suit the iconic Airport Square building aesthetic.

Tiffany Blaise, a Vancouver artist, provided an exciting local flavour and perspective. She worked on-site to create the custom artwork on 7- and 8-foot tall canvases.

With Tiffany painting on-site in the lobby, the project fostered a high level of occupant engagement, helping to create memories as well as producing something meaningful to the client and property management team. This sense of ownership inspired a close personal relationship to the artwork, extending to everyone involved in the project.

“The new artwork adds an element of warmth to the lobby, and certainly does bring that aeronautical flavour to Airport Square as a whole,” says Edmund Lee, Senior Vice President at LaSalle. “I’m also very pleased by all the positive feedback from the building occupants. I couldn’t be happier with the results overall.”

Colliers REMS manages 14 million square feet of Class A office properties across Canada. Its Class A office platform is based on exceptional service, award-winning initiatives and a creative approach to occupant engagement.
