Despite downtown vacancy doubling, the number still sits at a low 6%. How has the lack of office workers and tourists in Victoria affect the retail market? Interestingly, although casual dining restaurants in downtown have reduced occupancy and hours, their average cheque size has been dramatically higher.

Graham Smith is a Vice President in the Colliers Victoria office with over 20 years of experience in retail sales and leasing.
