From October 11 to the 13th, Innovating Commerce Serving Communities (ICSC) hosted their [email protected] in Toronto with Colliers in attendance.
The three-day schedule was filled with plenty of opportunities to connect, network and learn from industry professionals.
On the evening of kick-off, Colliers hosted a premier client event at Bymark, a staple in the Toronto Financial District, for over 140 attendees that included top clients and industry leaders in retail and development, along with members of Colliers leadership and advisors.
Colliers’ booth in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre was designed to host up to four separate meetings so that the 24 advisors who specialize in retail from across the country could meet with clients and potential clients who wanted to learn how access new retail and real estate opportunities. The booth used an interactive booking tool to make it easy for those interested in meeting with a Colliers’ expert to set up a meeting.
As part of ICSC’s industry panels, Jane Domenico, SVP & National Lead, Retail Services, Real Estate Management Services, emphasized how omnichannel retail – the unification of the e-commerce and brick and mortar shopping experience – is required to stay relevant. In our most recent tenant survey, the majority of retailers indicated that online customers purchase additional items when they pick up their orders in-store and the average additional spend accounts for over 30% of the original order. Knowing this, Jane explained, our team considers the strength of a retailer’s omnichannel performance when determining the most optimal merchandise mix.
