With over 15 years of banking experience in Alberta, Ian Huston will hold the position of Managing Director, set to lead established Calgary brokerage team.
Calgary, AB, March 7, 2022 – Colliers announced today that Ian Huston has joined the firm’s senior leadership team as Managing Director, Calgary leading their brokerage office in one of Alberta's major markets.
Ian is a respected leader with over 15 years of progressive experience in investment banking, corporate and capital markets, financing, and strategic advisory. He has led over $40 billion of successful merger & acquisition transactions, and numerous equity and debt financings. Ian has advised executive management and boards of directors of over 20 companies, particularly in the North American energy sector, including upstream, midstream, downstream, and energy services.
“The addition of Ian Huston as the leader of our Calgary Brokerage office will solidify our presence in the city and provide additional support to our high-performing, established team to accelerate their success,” said Scott Addison, President, Brokerage Services Canada. “Ian’s advisory experience and optimistic reputation in the business community will help connect clients to the services and properties required to meet their business needs.”
The Calgary commercial real estate market is currently on a growth trajectory, particularly in the office market where availability is considerably lower in higher-classed buildings with diverse amenities. Since November 2021, the office market has been increasingly active, with new entrants to the market, particularly in Calgary’s booming technology sector, looking for higher-quality space to meet their needs and to attract employees.
“The renewed growth in Calgary’s commercial real estate market makes this new opportunity a very attractive challenge,” said Ian Huston. “Colliers is a known presence in the city and the industry, and I am grateful to be leading a team of professional advisors who have an established reputation and impeccable client service.”
