Our Colliers Team in British Columbia committed to a 30-Day Fitness Challenge to raise awareness and funds for local children’s hospital
Throughout the month of May for the second year in a row, Colliers colleagues in British Columbia kicked-off the 30-Day Fitness Challenge in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Colleagues across the province of BC came together to pledge 30-days of fitness, sharing their journey with photos and messages to bring awareness to the excellent care that the hospital provides.
About the BC Children’s Hospital
As BC’s only dedicated children’s hospital, serving over one million kids in BC and the Yukon, every child diagnosed with cancer in the province has their treatment plan developed by pediatric oncology experts at BC Children’s. Thanks to the incredible work being done at BC Children’s, BC has the best childhood cancer survival rate in Canada.
Currently, of the approximately 130 new cancer diagnoses in children made at BC Children’s every year, 20 per cent of kids with cancer eventually relapse or fail to respond to treatment. For those who do survive, many suffer long-term negative health effects.
The fundraising campaign focuses on donations to support oncology programs and research to combat childhood cancers, mental health and social work programs at the hospital.
Every Dollar & Drop of Sweat Counts!
Participants in the 30-Day Fitness Challenge donate for every day of fitness that they skip, while also reaching out to their professional network, family, and friends to support their commitment to the campaign.
This year, with 23 participants in the 30-Day Fitness Challenge, we saw people come together post-pandemic to engage in recreational basketball, hiking, spin classes, jogging and many more activities to support the cause.
Collier’s 30-Day Fitness Challenge campaign raised $145,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Thank you to all those who participated and donated to this very worthy cause.
