INNvestment Canada Hotel Report Q4 2021

Hotel transaction activity accelerated in Q4 with approximately 52 transactions totaling more than $850 million, representing the third largest quarter for hotel investment by volume since the global financial crisis. The strong end to the year pushed annual transaction volume to just under $2 billion, more than doubling that of 2020 and up 13% from 2019.

INNvestment Canada Hotel Report Q1 2021

Activity in the lodging capital markets remained muted through Q1 which saw approximately $197 million in transaction volume with acquisitions for alternate use remaining a key driver of activity. Looking ahead, an anticipated cresting of the third wave as the vaccine roll-out gathers steam and growing deal pipeline indicate the sector is poised for a rebound in the second half of the year.
