West Five is a master-planned development covering an area of approximately 70 acres, containing 2,000 housing units, and 450,000 SF of commercial space. A Forward-Thinking Plan
In the spring of 2017, Colliers International London Ontario Brokerage was invited to submit a proposal to represent West Five. The retail leasing pitch to the developers, Sifton Properties Limited, was made by Chris Kirwin and Lisa Handa of the London office in partnership with Mary Mowbray of the Colliers Retail Group, Toronto. As a result of our progressive sales & marketing proposal, Colliers was awarded the contract.
Visualizing the Future of Retail
Colliers created a variety of marketing materials to highlight this one-of-a-kind retail opportunity, including a full-colour, 8-page brochure with exclusive West Five branding. In addition, the London office enlisted a local company to create virtual tours of the available areas to add to the online property listing. A well-attended Broker Open House was held at the Sifton Discovery Center to showcase West Five’s available commercial space, and its cutting-edge green technology and net-zero buildings. The property was also featured at Toronto’s ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) Convention in October of 2018.
Innovative Tenants for an Innovative Space
Response to the available West Five retail and office space has been overwhelmingly positive and interest is high. To date, successful leasing efforts include: BackRoads London, a fusion of athletic apparel retail, tap house and running club; as well as MedPoint Executive Fitness, a health care center focused on optimal health and disease prevention. We are continuing to connect with interested parties regarding this unique retail opportunity.
