Earlier this year, Chris Kirwin, President of Colliers London, and his team held their 2nd Annual Poker Tournament at their office to raise funds for, and awareness of, Habitat for Humanity®. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that partners with low-income families to build affordable homes. Habitat for Humanity London was established in 1993, and has built 35 homes in the community so far, with more in the planning stages.
The “Colliers Chip and a Chair, No Limit Texas Hold ‘em Tournament” was deemed a success by all who attended. The event raised double the funds it did last year, despite the tournament remaining an exclusive affair. The money raised will go towards helping build a safe and affordable home for a family in need.
Habitat for Humanity was exceptionally pleased and impressed with the event and reached out to personally thank the Colliers London office and Chris for their support. “Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario was thrilled to be contacted by Colliers to be the charity of choice for their fundraising tournament. We thank Chris Kirwin for his efforts and for being a pleasure to work with. The funds raised will help us build another safe, decent and affordable home for a London family. We also appreciate Colliers’ donations to the ReStore, which are equally valuable in helping us house more families. Thanks, Chris and Colliers!”
The Colliers London team is already planning the third annual tournament, scheduled to take place in the spring of 2017, with Chris again at the helm and Habitat for Humanity as the charity of choice.
