KPMG’s guide to international business locations costs

Since 1996, Competitive Alternatives has been providing insight into business location costs in cities and countries around the world, with special focus on North America and leading mature market economies in Europe and Asia Pacific.

KPMG released the 2016 edition of the Competitive Alternatives Study on March 30, 2016. Colliers was a sponsor of the report, contributing the real estate market intelligence the report used in its analysis.

The study covers more than 100 cities (95 of them located in North America), ranking those cities on their relative competitiveness in terms of 26 locational sensitive costs that include real estate. Of the 10 countries assessed, Canada ranks 2nd behind Mexico. Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver rank 3rd, 4th and 5th, respectively, on the list of the most cost-competitive places in which to do business.
