Strategic Advisory

Jason provides executive leadership for Collier’s Strategy & Consulting practice, which provides independent Strategy and Advisory services, Portfolio Optimization, Transaction, Process and Financial Advisory services to a wide number of organizations looking at how to thoughtfully accelerate its business operations and results.

Since 2009, he has led the planning, evaluation, and deal execution of just over $2 billion in infrastructure investment through a variety of delivery and transaction models. Prior to joining Colliers in 2018, Jason spent the previous 7 years as CFO / Vice President Finance at two of Toronto’s leading hospitals. Prior to that, he was part of the Infrastructure Advisory and Project Finance team at Deloitte (Toronto).

Jason’s experience in financial management, corporate finance, performance optimization, decision support, and transaction advisory enables him to facilitate thoughtful conversations to define and accelerate the strategic, capital and infrastructure planning with internal / external stakeholders, governance, and funding partners to bring new levels of strategic enablement and success.

He brings to bear the integrated thinking, concise evaluation, quality assurance, internal control, and operational management expertise associated with a professional accountant and experienced finance executive. Jason’s mix of experience and high energy collaborative style helps to bring the right conversations to the forefront.

Margaret joined Colliers International in February 2011 and has since established a diverse understanding of commercial real estate in all asset classes.  She has had the opportunity to work for Colliers in both Australia and Canada, providing her with global connections and a unique perspective on best practices, both of which assist in giving the best possible service experience for her clients.  

Margaret focuses on the leasing and sales of retail and office properties within the Greater Vancouver area and works with several of Vancouver’s top leasing and investment brokers.  She has a strong understanding of business issues which, coupled with her background in property valuation, allows Margaret to bridge the gaps of her clients’ business concerns with real estate solutions.  Her role includes developing new business, lease negotiation, providing lease analysis, marketing materials, project positioning analysis, market surveys, as well as property valuations.

She is also actively involved on the Education and Outreach committee for the CREW Network Vancouver Chapter and the Membership and Outreach committee for the Urban Land Institute.

Kate received her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and practiced law in the areas of commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions and structured finance, securities and secured  lending.

Prior to attending law school Kate co-founded and ran a commercial real estate leasing and operations consulting company for national and international tenants, landlords, investors and advisors.  In this role Kate consulted with and advised clients on all aspects of their real estate operations and strategy including acquisitions, dispositions and ongoing operations. 

Most recently Kate was responsible for the management of the real estate services operations for the entire portfolio of owned and leased real estate (over 20 million square feet under four banners) for an iconic Canadian retailer. In this position she translated corporate goals and objectives into real estate goals and objectives to ensure that team efforts were aligned with corporate strategy.

Prior to joining Colliers, I was an Associate with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance Inc. where I participated in various merger and acquisition mandates.  Some of my experience while at Ernst & Young include advising a U.S. technology trading company to raise $US25 million in seed capital, a major financial institution to develop a $45 million take-over bid for a stock exchange, and a P&C company in a $30 million divestiture.
