Colliers International Real Estate Management Services (REMS) is pleased to announce the release of its 2020 Sustainability Report. The report reinforces REMS’ ongoing dedication to providing innovative and effective sustainability solutions that add value to our clients’ portfolios, as well as a heightened level of care for the wellness of our occupants and team members.
This year’s report outlines the team’s specific goals and targets to achieve in the coming years, which include:
- Tracking 90% of utility usage across our managed properties
- Increasing Green Building Certifications to 60%
- Tracking waste in 80% of our managed properties
- Reducing energy consumption by 8%
- Reducing water consumption by 5%
2020 has been a uniquely challenging year for our industry; despite this, REMS’ enterprising spirit and the teams’ ongoing pursuit of smart technology and elevated service has delivered landmark accomplishments at two Class A office assets. REMS won the 2020 KingSett Innovation Award from KingSett Capital for its innovative electric heat pump at 1075 West Georgia Street in Vancouver and the International TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) Award from BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) International after only 18 months of managing 95 St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto. These wins, coupled with operational changes to align with industry best practices and local guidelines to focus on occupant health and wellness while minimizing energy and cost impacts, continue to position REMS as a leader in third-party property management.
