Colliers was well represented at the Excellence Gala 


Vancouver, BC, May 24, 2018 – Colliers International took home two awards during the 2018 Commercial Real Estate Awards of Excellence, presented by NAIOP Vancouver and Business in Vancouver. At the event, held on May 17 at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Colin Scarlett received both the Office Lease of the Year Awardand the Investment Deal of the Year Award.

The Office Lease of the Year Award recognizes the efforts of Colin Scarlett in assisting Relic Entertainment Inc. in leasing 47,000 square feet of space for a new head office location in Mt. Pleasant. An established Vancouver-based gaming company, and now owned by SEGA, Relic Entertainment Inc. looks forward to expanding operations in a location that is quickly becoming known as the local high-tech hub of the city.

The Investment Deal of the Year Award commends the work of Colin Scarlett on Fortinet Inc.’s expansion in Vancouver, assisting the company in acquiring 282,000 square feet of office space. Fortinet, Inc. is a $10 billion award-winning, global internet security company headquartered in the Silicon Valley. Led locally by Colin Scarlett, the Colliers International team (consisting of Jim Abarta, Phil Arnautou, Grant Zamudio, James Lang, Matt Carlson and Simon Lim) worked tirelessly to find a solution that was a big win for Fortinet, Inc.

 


In addition to the double-win by Colin Scarlett, a number of other Colliers’  top commercial real estate projects and personnel were strongly represented at the 2018 Commercial Real Estate Awards of Excellence, including: Stuart MorrisonDarren Cannon, and Roy Pat for the industrial development of Hopewell Distribution Centre, Phase IV; Colin Scarlett, Jason Teahen, and Brian Mackenzie for office lease at the Anvil Centre; and Colin Scarlett, Dan Jordan, and Stephen Moscovich for office lease at the Ormidale Block.


The Commercial Real Estate Awards of Excellence seeks to recognize the top projects in the commercial real estate industry within the Metro Vancouver area for the 2016 and 2017 calendar years. Organized by NAIOP Vancouver and Business in Vancouver, the awards focus on project attributes such as: quality and performance, innovation and creativity, teamwork and collaboration, community and environmental awareness. The team at Colliers is proud to receive this recognition for the company’s recent efforts in the commercial real estate industry, from long-term collaborators NAIOP Vancouver and Business in Vancouver.
