As a Director in the Property Tax Division at Colliers, Saadiq assists companies and landlords in taking a proactive approach in reviewing and analyzing their assessments annually. By doing this, landlords can advise tenants that their best interests are in mind, and that a proactive approach is being taken to reduce their property taxes. Our goal at Colliers is to ensure that our client's property tax burden is fair, and that their assessment is supported by both equity and market value.
Saadiq is in his 6th year in the industry, and has specialized in various property types including office, hotels, retail and development land appeals.
In his time away from the office, you can usually find him on the golf course or on the slopes!
Accomplishments
Being in his 6th year in the industry, Saadiq has had a wide variety of experience with numerous different property types, in Calgary and surrounding areas. Prior to working at Colliers, Saadiq worked at Altus Group, where he held progressively senior roles in his time there. In total, he has conducted over 350 individual hearings before the Assessment Review Board, and has been successful in achieving significant reductions for his clients.
In 2017, Saadiq was an integral part of significant reductions achieved for Downtown Office Buildings. All qualities were reduced substantially, and Saadiq was a part of creating and analyzing the arguments made, as well as presenting them to the Assessment Review Board. A noteworthy success of Saadiq's was when the assessment for a recently purchased Slate Office Building in Calgary was reduced by nearly 50%, translating into a tax savings of over $350,000.
In 2018, one highlight was the successful redcution of the Chevron Building in Calgary - amounting to over $500,000 in savings for the owner.
In 2019, Saadiq was instrumental in negotiating significant reductions with the Assessment Department on numerous different proeprty types, particularly office properties, industrial warehouses and hotels across Alberta.
Education
Saadiq attended the University of Calgary from 2009 - 2013, and received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in International Business, from the Haskayne School of Business. During his time here, Saadiq was on the Dean's List, and was the recipient of various scholarships including the University of Calgary Admission Scholarship, as well as scholarships from Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta.
A highlight of Saadiq's university experience was when he was able to consult with a publicly traded Oil & Gas Services Company, and advise on how and when to expand their operations to the United States. Years after the consulting project was completed, that company began operating in the United States, in a similar fashion to what was in his team's report and presentation!

As an Executive Director at Colliers International I am fortunate enough to lead a passionate team that assists companies take a proactive approach in reviewing and reducing their property assessments & taxation. With a growing team of professionals we are able to support our clients above and beyond their expectations.
Our goal is to assure our clients that their property assessments are accurate and that they aren’t paying too much in property tax year after year. Located out of the Calgary office I specialize in managing commercial real estate. With over a decade of experience in the industry my focus is on all commercial real estate specializing in Retail, Office, Industrial, Hotel, Multi-Residential and Vacant Land.
I believe that it is very important as a professional to keep up-to-date with industry changes and as a member of ICSC, CPTA, SASCA I am able to keep in touch with influential individuals and to be aware of all industry changes. Currently I am the Provincial Director for ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centres) overseeing Alberta Manitoba, & Saskatchewan. I am also on the executive committee for the Canadian Property Tax Association Western Chapter as Chairmain and currently chair the Western Chapter Market-Value sub committee.
When I’m not at work you can find me relaxing at home with my wife and three kids, at the gym or out at the Hockey Rink/Soccer Field/Baseball Diamond coaching my Son & Daughter's teams.

As a Senior Associate in the Property Tax Division at Colliers, Hayley assists clients in reviewing and analyzing property assessments annually. Overall, the goal is to reduce to the tax burden on commercial property owners and their tenants by ensuring property assessments are fair and equitable.
With nearly five years if work experience in the industry, Hayley has specialized in income producing properties such as suburban offices, retail, and multi-family. In addition, Hayley also has extensive knowledge and experience with development lands, commercial land, industrial properties and car dealerships.
A Certified Professional Accountant (CPA CMA) and an Accredited Appraiser of the Canadian Institute (AACI), Mark is a valuation and advisory services professional with a focus on investment grade assets and income producing properties.
