Professional Summary
Mitch has extensive experience in the valuation of major assets for Canadian public companies, REITs and pension funds and advisors. He has a long track record in reporting for International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and has acted as an advisor for IFRS valuations and benchmarking for commercial property portfolios in Canada, the United States, The Netherlands and Germany. Mitch also provides ongoing support for annual fund valuations to Peter Hihn SV Büro für Immobilenbewertung, a German valuation firm that provides annual reviews for major German Open Market Funds such as Union Investment GmbH and Deutsche Gesellschaften fur Immobilien (DEGI), now Aberdeen Property Investors.
Accomplishments
Mitch has over 20 years experience in valuation and has held senior positions with industry leading firms. He started his career in 1986 as an assessor for the Province of Nova Scotia and after two years embarked upon a career in valuation with Altus Group (Hardy Appraisals). In 2002, after a two year hiatus as a member of the management team for a prominent Halifax development group, Mitch launched the Valuation and Advisory Services Group for CBRE in Halifax. In 2006, he formed his own valuation firm, operating as an independent partner to Colliers International (Atlantic).
