Austin works collaboratively within Colliers top industrial brokerage team, his attention to detail and early exposure to high-profile files have allowed him to progress his knowledge of the industry at a rapid pace. His exposure to the industry begun at an early age, learning from his father Gord Cook and involving himself in numerous summer internships at Colliers before joining the team in 2019. Now, Austin regularly supports and works with industrial occupiers, investors and developers on their real estate strategies with the shared goal of flawless execution of each real estate transaction.

Austin majored in Globalization Studies at Western University, a program that complimented his unabating curiosities about people, business and life. The program provides students with the opportunity to explore the incredibly complex idea of globalization from a multi-disciplinary perspective. Core courses from the Social Sciences, Humanities, Health Sciences and Science faculties allowing him to study and practice a wide-variety of topics and skills. Austin particularly enjoyed courses in marketing, urban development, economics and personal finance; Many of his educational endeavors emphasized his interest in real estate.
Austin continues to work towards earning the prestigous Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, with its members being recognized as being the leading experts in commercial investment real estate and negotiation across North America. CCIM also provides the opportunity for regular engagement and course-work, having already completed numerous specialized courses in financial underwriting, and harnessing GIS systems for analysis.

In his unique role, Thomas works alongside Gord Cook problem solving and offering out of the box solutions on their many complex assignments. Thomas is indispensable to Gord’s team, delivering exceptional service to their clients staying one step ahead and anticipating their needs. Thomas engages his research and property knowledge when working on RFP responses, lease negotiations and proposals. He does extensive work, using ARGUS to develop financial analysis and reports, which is instrumental to the team’s financial underwriting requirements. With the depth and scope of his role, Thomas positions himself as a knowledge leader offering relevant and innovative ideas and solutions on a multitude of projects.
While Thomas’ research and property knowledge sets him apart, he is truly known for his accountability, integrity, responsiveness and honesty.
