Alam Pirani is Executive Managing Director of Colliers International Hotels based in the Toronto office. He leads the team of professionals responsible for hotel investment advisory services in Canada and the Caribbean and is an Executive Member of the Colliers Global Hotel Team. Alam’s specialized experience is in sourcing equity and debt capital for hotel and leisure investments and providing strategic advisory services for hotel and leisure-related assets. Since joining Colliers in 1991, Alam has been directly involved in portfolio and single asset and debt transactions with a market capitalization of over $10.0 billion in Canada and over $3.0 billion in the Caribbean acting on behalf of REIT’s, public companies, institutional investors, opportunity/investment funds and private capital sources.
Prior to joining Colliers, Alam was with the hotel and leisure time industries consulting firm of Laventhol & Horwath, where he was involved in advising clients on development, valuation and strategic planning in the lodging industry. Alam has also worked in various operations capacities with hotel companies and with a private real estate investment/development company. Alam received his formal education in Hospitality & Tourism Management at Ryerson University.
Robin has been with Colliers since 2003 and is responsible for hotel and resort investment sales, business development and client management. As Managing Director of Canadian hotel brokerage operations, she is an industry leader representing Canada's largest hotel owners, focusing on developing long-term client relationships and helping to establish Colliers as the advisor of choice to institutional capital and private investors.
Gerhard is Managing Director – Caribbean with Colliers International Hotels based in Nassau, The Bahamas. As head of region, Gerhard oversees business development, as well as brokerage and advisory executions with a focus on hospitality and leisure real estate assets. Gerhard works closely with the Toronto-based Colliers International Hotels team, which has completed over $3 billion in hospitality brokerage and advisory assignments in the Caribbean over the past decade.
Prior to joining Colliers, Gerhard was Vice President of Investments and Asset Management at China Construction America’s (CCA) South America and Caribbean affiliate and was responsible for the company’s acquisitions and strategic investing efforts.
Previous to his work at CCA, Gerhard was a senior member of the executive team and board member for several prominent private equity groups and accumulated substantial experience in various industries and countries. He has directly managed multi-billion dollar companies and was the lead originator and executed successful transactions valued in excess of $2 billion.
Gerhard has worked in The Bahamas and Cayman Islands (including projects in various other Caribbean locations), the United Kingdom and United States, as well as other jurisdictions throughout Europe and South Africa. He has considerable industry experience in real estate, hospitality, retail, mining, renewable energy and financial services.
Gerhard is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and CFA® charterholder.
Jessi is responsible for hotel brokerage and debt placement. With 10 years of experience in real estate and finance he brings a unique dimension to the Colliers Canadian Hotel Practice Group with his comprehensive background in several investment disciplines, in particular hotels, restaurants and related industries. Jessi most recently worked with an investment banking firm, prior to that, he was with GE Capital for eight years as a senior account manager.
Based in Vancouver, Hamir works closely with the Canadian hotel brokerage team, providing investor coverage and pursuing hotel mandates in Western Canada. Hamir has considerable experience selling hotel properties to a variety of private and institutional investors. Hamir has a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Mangalore University and has completed the Hotel Real Estate Investment and Asset Management certification from Cornell University, as well as appraisal courses at UBC’s Sauder School of Business.
Russell joined Colliers in 2008 and has over 15 years’ experience in the lodging industry. Working closely with the Colliers team and clients, he directs brokerage and advisory assignments across Canada and the Caribbean. In addition to transaction and consulting responsibilities, he oversees research and marketing initiatives, as well as special projects.
Prior to Colliers, Russell held positions at Marriott and Four Seasons. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Ryerson University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and holds a certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University.
Tiffany has been involved in over $3.8 billion in deal volume since joining Colliers, providing market knowledge/expertise, property underwriting and financial analysis in the preparation of hotel valuations, proposals, investment memoranda and strategic advisory assignments. Tiffany specializes in disposition and acquisition due diligence and is the main liaison between respective buyers and sellers during this part of the sales process to ensure a smooth and successful transaction for all parties.
Tiffany's background varies across the Hotel, Economic & Development, and Marketing sectors including working for the City of Toronto and consulting for a non-profit in São Paulo, Brazil.
Fraser has been involved in more than $3 billion of lodging transactions across Canada and the Caribbean since joining Colliers in 2013. In his position as Director, Fraser works closely with the national hotel brokerage team with a focus on financial underwriting, business and proposal development and strategic research. Fraser provides customized market intelligence for clients on trends influencing lodging investment in Canada and leads production of Colliers’ hotel research including the INNvestment Canada Quarterly Hotel Reports and the Canadian Hotel Investment Report.
