Colliers International Real Estate Management Services Joins CaGBC’s Disclosure Challenge

news article

Colliers International Real Estate Management Services (REMS) is pleased to announce its participation in the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) Disclosure Challenge, joining QuadReal, Trivoest Realty Advisors Inc., Concert Properties Ltd., and the Minto Group.

In accordance with our commitment to sustainability, Colliers REMS has joined CaGBC’s Disclosure Challenge to lead industry efforts in establishing a nationally standardized property benchmarking and data transparency program.

The CaGBC designed the initiative for commercial real estate leaders to champion the importance of data disclosure and provide a platform for them to advocate for national consistency in building data disclosure regulations and requirements. The absence of a nationally standardized program, and the corresponding publicly available data, plays a significant role in preventing Canada from meeting emissions reduction targets and transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

“With the Disclosure Challenge, REMS is proud to stand alongside other leading commercial real estate companies and demonstrate that the industry is ready for a new era of energy, water, and emissions data disclosure. The establishment of a national property benchmarking program will standardize data disclosure and ultimately help achieve enhanced building performance and improved outcomes for all stakeholders, including our communities, clients, and occupants,” shares Nicky Arthur, Energy & Sustainability Manager, Real Estate Management Services

REMS will continue to play an active role in this program and disclose information, set performance baselines and identify efficiency opportunities for the properties we manage, all while respecting and upholding client confidentiality.
