Matt has successfully completed assignments with PC Urban Properties, a Vancouver based boutique Real Estate Developer and Investor, First Capital Realty, and CB Richard Ellis.
Matt’s diverse background has helped him develop a specialization in value creation for Developers and Landlords through the execution of pre-leasing & leasing of new retail centers and mixed use projects. Matt has developed specific experience re-positioning older shopping centers through a rejuvenation process that keeps the balance of value creation and budgetary restraint as the primary focus.
Matt has directly experienced the detailed process involved in site selection for large national tenants and diligently strives to fulfill tenant requirements for effective decision making.
Matt has had direct accountability for maximizing the asset value of 11 grocery or pharmacy anchored shopping centres, totalling an estimated 925,000 SF, delivering on average 108 – 110% of proforma. Matt has worked directly with the development team to secure pre-leasing for greenfield and redevelopment sites valued at an estimated $250 million. In a down market Matt played a key role in the re-positioning of a 205,000 SF retail shopping center in the interior of BC resulting in a 15% increase in NOI and successful sale of the centre to a national REIT. Matt has successfully managed a disposition program for a multi-national fuel supplier’s excess retail and card lock sites across Canada.
