Vancouver Commercial Real Estate Culture

Culture and Community

We are serious about our work but don’t take ourselves too seriously. We value an optimistic, energetic and dynamic work environment that emphasizes social as well as business interaction.

Commercial real estate is always busy, but amidst the busy-ness, Colliers Vancouver set the tone by encouraging employees to get together. Throughout the year, employees are given an opportunity to give back to their community in charitable ways. However, giving back to the community is just one aspect of how the Vancouver office shows their team spirit.

This page will provide you with a look into the Vancouver office’s social and community events. Check back often, as we are always adding more fun events that we are involved with!

Colliers Vancouver 2017 Staff Party

Colliers Vancouver Celebrates Canada 150 with Canadian Themed Staff Day

In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, the entire Colliers Vancouver office shut down and hosted a “Canadian” themed staff appreciation day.

This fun event was held at Scotiabank’s Nat Bailey Stadium on June 26, and in honor of Canada’s birthday, everyone dressed in red and white to show off their Canadian pride. Staff had the chance to participate in tug-of-war, slo-pitch, life-size pong, and volleyball. The event was catered, providing a variety of foods to enjoy throughout the event, “Canadian BBQ style” with burgers, hot dogs, popcorn, corn on the cob and much more.

It was great to come together as team to reward employees for their hard work and continue establishing bonds and friendships within our Vancouver office. Company culture is extremely important at Colliers and through the development of staff days such as this, our staff is empowered to provide better work and relationships among our team and with our clients.

Colliers Gives Back

Colliers Vancouver embodied the spirit of Christmas and their commitment to their community by donating time throughout the holiday season.

Ronald McDonald HouseThis year alone, Colliers Vancouver lent a helping hand to the following charities: Vancouver Police Foundation, Coast Mental Health, United Way, Ronald McDonald House BC, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke and Habitat for Humanity. The team also sponsored a family through the YMCA Family Sponsorship Program, and collected 16 boxes of toys for The Children’s Bureau. Thank you to everyone who donated gifts, money and time to the foundations and charities Colliers Vancouver supports throughout the holiday season.

Children's Annual Holiday Party

On December 5, Colliers Vancouver welcomed more than 100 little boys and girls to the Annual Children's Holiday Party.

The event took place at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in one of the lavish ballroom reception areas. The grand event offered a variety of kid-inspired food such as chicken fingers, grilled cheese and mini pizzas. The little ones also had their very own dessert table, topped to perfection with gingerbread men and candies for decorating. Our miniature guests enjoyed an afternoon with festive clowns, face painters and Santa’s helpers.

However, it wasn’t until Santa and his elves arrived that the day became one to remember. The children’s faces beamed as they shared their secrets with Santa, had their photo taken and received a gift to take home to place under the tree.

Colliers Vancouver Holiday Staff Party

With the festive season underway, Colliers employees attended this year’s holiday party luncheon.

The event took place on December 10 at the largest Glowbal restaurant to date, located at the new TELUS Garden. This event provided Vancouver employees an opportunity to get dressed up, mingle with coworkers, and enjoy a fully catered, sit-down meal. This year’s event was a huge success with many merries and warm wishes.

Colliers Vancouver Uses Drone Technology to Capture Employee Fun Day

High-tech accessory changes the way real estate marketers interact with their clients

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have taken commercial real estate photography to a new level. Marketers are now using this technology, which produces standout aerial footage, to create captivating marketing campaigns and deliver better client service.

Real estate marketers also see the opportunity in using the high-tech accessory for videography. This tech accessory has changed the way we communicate, interact and capture memories. The ability to shoot footage from various vantage points makes it easy to simultaneously record the action from several sites, creating a compelling story.

On July 16, 2015, Colliers International Vancouver did just this when the team gathered outside its office walls for a day of fun. Colliers hosted nearly 220 employees at Scotiabank’s Nat Bailey Stadium for a carnival-themed event.

Watch the video below to see how this techie accessory captured our story…

Looking ahead, aerial video footage and professional aerial photography will play a bigger role in commercial real estate. Pulling video frames from a slow pan to make a panoramic shot, holding a longer shutter from the air at night, and layered, multiple-exposure aerial photographs, are just some of the more advanced techniques we can expect to see as drones continue to take property marketing to new heights.
