Colliers hires new Executive Vice President, Valuation & Advisory Services for Canada
I am pleased to announce that James MacQueen is joining Colliers as Executive Vice President, Valuation & Advisory Services, Canada, effective August 27. In his new role, James will lead our Canadian Valuations team, designing and implementing strategies to achieve business goals, recruiting best-in-class managers and professionals, forging new client relationships while strengthening existing ones, and developing business opportunities.
With over 25 years of senior leadership experience in both commercial and residential real estate, James comes to us from Brookfield RPS, a national appraisal management company, where he held the position of Executive Vice President. Under his leadership, the firm boosted its topline revenue and appraisal volume, and achieved a 99% client retention rate, among other notable milestones.
Prior to working with Brookfield, James held senior management positions at other real estate-focused organizations including Teranet Inc., CBRE, InnVest REIT, Cara Operations, Oxford Properties and Ivanhoe Cambridge. Apart from being a business development expert, James also specializes in land registry, data and analytics, and strategic services, in addition to real estate management, development and valuation.
Born and raised in Sydney, Nova Scotia, James holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University and an MBA from University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. He has been a volunteer with the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada since 2001, and currently serves as Chairman of the Chapter Advisory Board for Ontario.
Bringing James on board is in line with Colliers’ global strategy to expand our market leadership by elevating our expertise, hiring and retaining top talent, and pursuing and winning new business.
James will be starting in our downtown Toronto office on Monday, August 27.
