Colliers Adds Six More Tenants to Saskatoon’s Largest Northeast Retail Project

Pillar Properties Corp. and Colliers International are pleased to announce six additional tenants joining University Heights Square, the 23-acre site on the corner of Attridge Drive and McOrmond Drive.

Colliers International is marketing the development, the largest retail development in northeast Saskatoon.  Ken Suchan and Keith Webb lead the Colliers leasing team on behalf of Pillar Properties.

“There is strong demand for retail services in University Heights with more than 30,000 people in the area and a projected population exceeding 45,000 – larger than the population of Prince Albert,” says Ken Suchan, vice president, Colliers International.

Phase I

Construction of Phase I commenced in April 2010 with approximately 115,000 square feet of retail space to accommodate up to 27 tenants.  It is currently 80% leased.

Phase II

Phase II commenced in August 2010 with the construction of an office complex along Nelson Road.  The first tenancy in the completed two-storey office building is Investors Group, which is now open.  Three additional buildings are planned for this phase.

Phase III

A grocery store anchor-tenant is proposed.

The retail development’s project team includes: developer Pillar Properties Corp. of Saskatoon; Edwards Edwards McEwen Architects of Saskatoon; general contractor Wright Construction Western Inc. of Saskatchewan; and leasing agent Colliers International of Saskatoon.

University Heights Square is centrally located in Saskatoon’s northeast quadrant on the corner of Attridge Drive and McOrmond Drive.  It is surrounded by six established neighbourhoods and the planned Evergreen neighbourhood.  University Heights Suburban Centre is a rapidly growing district of Saskatoon with Willowgrove’s single-family residential lots sold out and the new Evergreen neighbourhood ahead of schedule with 740 residential lots and over 40 acres of multi-family lots expected to be available this year.
