Quasi-retail and office users are changing the face of historical industrial areas close to the downtown core in Vancouver. The changing areas are particularly attractive to craft breweries, which have seen staggering growth in recent years.
Colliers interviewed two brewery entrepreneurs, Mike Doan of Doan’s Craft Brewing, and Bryan Lockhart of Black Kettle Brewing, to learn more about what’s trending for breweries and the real estate decisions involved in opening one in the Lower Mainland. Bryan and Mike outlined five important brewery-specific building requirements:
- 3-Phase power & at least 200 amps
- Concrete floors at least 4" thick
- Water & drainage
