Colliers International is proud to announce that Montréal’s top-producing Industrial team, consisting of Norman Laff, Arnold Fox and Jean-Marc Dubé, have two major deals nominated for the SIOR ECC Deal of the Year Awards.
The Deal of the Year Awards is presented by SIOR’s Eastern Canada Chapter to the office deal and industrial deal that made the biggest impact in 2013. Colliers Montréal submitted three major deals in the industrial category and two have been nominated for the final award.
The first nominated deal concerns one of the largest single-tenant industrial properties in the GMA. The client, Owens-Illinois, wanted the team to survey the market and find a 600,000 to 650,000-square-foot facility close to their current warehouse in Lasalle. The Colliers team successfully helped the client renegotiate the renewal of their lease. The size of this deal was 742,000 square feet and the value of the transaction was $28 million.
The second nominated deal recognizes a collaboration among the Colliers Montréal’s team, Gord Cook and Victor Cotic (Both Cook and Cotic are from Colliers Toronto). The combined team secured a new facility for DHL/Exel, as well as sourced an investor landlord to take advantage of the opportunity by acquiring the land and the building in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu. This transaction is valued at upwards of $65 million for a 374,000-square-foot facility and 870,000 square feet of land. It allowed for the creation of new employment opportunities and construction contracts in a tertiary market.
The winners will be announced during the SIOR Awards ceremony in Montréal on March 24.
