Cycle of Life Tour Comes Full Circle

Colliers International Canada Gold Sponsor

Last year, Colliers International was the Gold Sponsor for the 2012 Cycle of Life Tour in which Sean Jacklin, now an intern with the company’s Victoria office, rode a bike across Canada to raise funds and awareness for the Victoria Hospice. He has now released a video of his journey.

“I wanted to give people a sense of what it was like to ride across this country,” says Sean. “There were just so many stories along the way.”

Using his helmet-mounted camera (donated by Colliers Victoria) and his smart phone, Sean captured the dramatic highs and lows of his trip, including the moment he received the news his grandfather had been moved into hospice care back home in Victoria.

With the support of Colliers International offices across the country, Sean flew home to see his grandfather one last time. He then returned to Toronto, carrying his grandfather’s ashes, which he spread in the Atlantic Ocean, marking the emotional conclusion to his journey.

On the anniversary of his cross-country ride, Sean released the video as a way to complete his version of the Cycle of Life tour.

“The amount of support I received from the company and local offices was unbelievable as I trekked east,” said Sean. “It melded the campaign into a national effort. Ultimately, without this support, I’m not sure I would have been able to finish the tour.”

The video is hosted on the Cycle of Life Tour website, where donations in Sean’s name will be gratefully accepted.
