Colliers International in Canada has won the Real Estate Sector Award for Vancouver’s Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Ride for Research three years in a row. Colliers received the distinction for raising the most funds for the 2012 JDRF Ride out of all participating companies within the city’s Real Estate sector – 77 employees from Colliers Vancouver raised more than $29,000 in donations.
2013 marks the eighth year of Colliers’ partnership with JDRF. In 2012 alone, 157 Colliers employees from six cities across Canada participated in the JDRF Ride and raised in excess of $67,000.
“The inception of one team in 2005 was the beginning of a legacy of giving that truly makes an organization great in the eyes of others,” commented JDRF Canada’s Deborah Cushing. “Colliers’ support has now grown to a Canada-wide partnership through participation and support of JDRF’s Ride for Diabetes Research. Colliers’ continued support allows JDRF to accelerate the discovery, development and delivery of advances that cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D). Because of this unique partnership, JDRF’s research efforts continue to significantly improve care, and have expanded the critical scientific understanding of this disease, supporting JDRF’s mission to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.”
To date, Colliers in Canada has raised more than $430,000 towards diabetes research.
