Greater than the national average of 5.0% and a provincial average of 11.6%, Spruce Grove has been identified as the ninth fastest growing city in Canada by Statistics Canada 2016 – Census Subdivisions. With this unprecedented growth, City of Spruce Grove’s Growth Study includes acquiring lands, equal to 1,426 hectare acres, to
accommodate a future population of 108,000 over the next 50 years. Boundary Lands is a subject of this potential annexation between Spruce Grove and Stony Plain, as a means to meet the demands of the thriving population.
